    Yo,

You were naming some 'standard' tunes to learn - I know angi (p. simon and b. jansch versions) and catavina like the back of my hand, and was just wondering if you have any suggestions of where to go next.

This is a long shot - but I am trying to find anyone that can tell me the tuning for: John Martyn - Easy Blues/Jelly Roll blues

    Also, hello

    Thanks

    David

    Hi David
Sorry don't know any John Martyn at all. If you look at the whole thread I started, there was a HUGE list provided by some Chinese (i think) guy of tunes to learn. I could probably add pieces ad infinitum, but if you can play cavatina you're obviously pretty accomplished. A nice tune in a similar vein to cavatina is chi mai (several versions on youtube including my own http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=wGYFeBb_qh8 sorry only handwritten TAB). What about john renbourn lady nothynge's toye puffe? Or Steve Howe Mood for A Day? Another relatively easy piece is Renbourne's Earl of Salisbury. I could go on and on, but my bag is mainly, as you can tell, British style rather than the American style of say Chet Atkins, or Merle Travis.
Keep in touch, its nice to talk to other fingerstyle players. We are a rare breed!
